3. What is the Length of the Disarm PIN Sequence?
The disarm PIN sequence offers a customisable range of 4 to 20 buttons within your vehicle's cockpit. This sequence can encompass a combination of existing controls, ranging from windshield wiper toggles to electric window buttons. If you do not like entering buttons Bluetooth fobs are available.
4. What if I Forget My Unique Sequence?
Rest assured, a fail-safe solution is in place. An access card containing a reset code is provided. In the event of forgetting your sequence, you can utilise this unique reset code to establish a new, permanent PIN sequence.
5. Can Thieves Detect the Scorpion X-series Immobiliser?
Thieves are met with an insurmountable challenge due to the X-Series' discreet design and complete absence of noises, lights, or frequencies. Its integration within the vehicle's CANBUS wiring ensures its hidden presence.
6. What If Someone Else Needs to Use My Car?
Service Mode facilitates temporary disablement of the X-Series immobiliser, permitting others to operate the vehicle without your PIN sequence. This is especially useful for garage visits or services. Please note the valet function will disappear by entering the correct PIN number or driving the vehicle above 30mph.
7. Does Scorpion X-series 2 have an app?
Yes, the Scorpion X-series comes with a smartphone application. This app can replace our pin sequence. However, using a pin sequence is recommended for disarming your vehicle.
8. Can Scorpion X-series immobiliser installation void the warranty?
Installing an immobiliser can affect your vehicle’s warranty. To get the accurate details, please contact your car manufacturer and dealership.
9. Can I get a car tracker with an immobiliser?
Yes, a vehicle owner can get a car tracker with an immobiliser. Our S5 trackers are approved by Thatcham and they come with police-authorised remote immobilisation.
10. Is the Scorpion X-series immobiliser a GPS tracker?
No, the Scorpion X-series immobiliser is not a GPS tracker. If you want a GPS tracker as well, you can buy the S7 tracker with the Scorpion X-series immobiliser. Doing so is good if your vehicle insurance provider requires you to install a car tracker and you want immobilization as well. For better options, discuss this matter with your vehicle insurance company and car manufacturer.
11. Can I change my pin sequence?
Yes, it is possible to change your PIN if required.
12. How to enter service / valet mode?
- Disarm the system using your disarm sequence or mobile app
- Drive to, and park up at the dealership, airport, valeter’s etc and while the engine is still running, turn the app completely off then press your service button 5 times
- The indication lamp will flash back at you 5 times to confirm service / valet mode has been entered
13. How to exit service / valet mode manually?
- Simply enter your normal disarm sequence (must have an ignition cycle since service mode was entered)
- There will be the normal disarm 2 flash confirmation
- The next time the ignition is switched off the X-Series will rearm as normal
14. How service / valet mode exits automatically?
- Drive up to 31 mph (50 kph)
- Continue to drive (at any speed) for 15 minutes
- Once the time as elapsed there will be 2 flashes to indicate that service / valet mode has exited
