Your videos are safe

Event Files Overwrite Protection: dashcams record in a loop, overwriting older files when the memory is full. BlackVue DR900S-1CH can prevent Event files (triggered manually or by impacts) overwriting. Up to fifty (50) files can be protected this way. You can choose to allow new Event files to overwrite past Event files, thus keeping the latest fifty.

Adaptive Format-Free File Management: this BlackVue-developed file system improves recording stability and requires less microSD card formatting.

SD Card Failure Alert: your BlackVue detects as soon as the microSD card fails and warns you with a “Please check SD card” voice alert.

Built-in Speaker, Impact Sensor and Motion Detection

Speaker: your dashcam tells you when it turns on, shuts down or detects errors.
Accelerometer: located in the front camera, it detects impacts to trigger Event recording. Enables Parking Mode* when stationary for 5 minutes.
Automatically tags video files: While driving, the built-in accelerometer (G-sensor) detects impacts and sudden changes in speed. While parked, your BlackVue also detects visual movements around your vehicles (in Motion + Impact detection mode).
Use the filters in the BlackVue App and Viewer: BlackVue tags all videos (Normal, Event, Parking Mode, etc.), so that you can filter them and quickly find the ones you need in the BlackVue Viewer (Windows, Mac OS, Web) or the BlackVue App (Android, iOS).

Sleek Interface

Touch sensor

Tap the touch sensor to trigger Manual Event videos.

With the BlackVue App, connect to your BlackVue to access files and check real-time Live View for easy setup of your dashcam.
With the SD Card Viewer, connect your dashcam’s microSD card to your computer to view and backup footage in bulk, as well as export clips, remove sound, etc.
The Web Viewer lets you manage your Cloud-connected dashcams from any web browser at blackvuecloud.com.

BlackVue Cloud

Me and My Car. Connected.

Connect to your BlackVue anytime, from anywhere in the world with BlackVue Cloud.
Receive Push Notifications on your phone whenever the dashcam detects an impact on your parked vehicle and see for yourself with Remote Live View. Even better, let BlackVue upload critical footage—such as break-in or hit and run—in real time to the Cloud with Live Event Upload.
Play and download videos from your dashcam or the Cloud from anywhere and back up important videos to the free Cloud storage. Enjoy Two-way Voice Communication with the driver from the app through the BlackVue’s integrated speaker and mic.

High Frame Rate for Extra Fluidity

The advantage of 60FPS video capture The front camera records extra fluid videos at 60 frames per second, keeping all details sharp even in fast action. With 60fps, motion blur is much reduced compared to 30fps. That means your BlackVue can better capture details–like license plates–even in fast-moving objects.
Note 1: the higher the image quality setting, the higher the bitrate and the bigger the file size. A bigger size will increase the time necessary to transfer a video file over Wi-Fi.
Note 2: Remote Live View using BlackVue Cloud is not affected by the image quality and framerate settings.

LTE Connectivity Module (Optional)

Unlock BlackVue Cloud access. Share Wi-Fi in your car.

The CM100GLTE provides easy 4G LTE connectivity to enable BlackVue Cloud features. All you need is a valid Nano SIM card. The CMG100LTE is powered and connects via the USB port of your dashcam.
When connected to the CM100GLTE, BlackVue DR970X Series can serve as a mobile hotspot providing wireless Internet access to up to five devices (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
Note: when purchasing, make sure the CM100GLTE you choose is compatible with your mobile carrier’s network.

Tamper-Proof Case (Optional)

The BTC-1C is a special-purpose mount designed to prevent tampering.
It replaces your dashcam’s original mount. The side cover, fastened by two hex screws, blocks the access to the microSD card and the cable connectors.

Triple protection

  • Locks the dashcam’s angle via an hex screw to prevent rotation.
  • Blocks the access to the microSD card slot.
  • Protects against the unplugging of the power and USB cables.

  • Intelligent Parking Mode

Protect your car when you are away.

    BlackVue Dashcam Parking Mode
    Taxi bumping into car
    Neighborly Hit and Run
    Multiple Hit and Runs
Vehicle Hit By A Shopping Cart
Jeep Door Thief Caught On BlackVue

BlackVue automatically switches to Parking Mode to monitor your parked vehicle.
Thanks to video buffer, the few seconds leading to triggering events are also recorded.
DR970X Series supports two Parking Mode options:

Motion & Impact Detection Parking Mode detects both:

    • Motions recorded by the image sensor (marked “P” in the file list).
    • Impacts detected by the accelerometer/G-sensor (marked “E” in the file list).
Choose detection regions to reduce the risk of triggering unwanted motion recordings due to trees swaying in the wind, far-away moving objects, etc.

Continuously records at 1FPS (one frame per second). Videos are played back at 30FPS.
1-minute Time lapse Parking Mode video = 30 minutes real time coverage.
Cover a period of more than 54 hours on a 32GB microSD card front and rear at the highest (Extreme) quality setting.
When an impact is detected, the dashcam creates a buffered Event video.

    Ask a Question
: A dash cam starts creating video files on an empty memory card. These video files are typically segmented into 1, 3, or 5 minute chunks, since it is easier to view and work with small video files on your computer rather than one long continuous file. When the memory card is full, the dash cam simply starts over at the beginning of the memory card, and in this way, never needs any attention from you until you have captured an incident on video that you would like to save. This is known as "loop recording", and is one of the most important abilities of dash... Read more

You can't explain that! Just kidding. Dash cams record video to a removable memory card inside the camera itself. Any time your car is on and the dash cam is plugged in, it is acting as your backup witness. Dash cams automatically start recording when they are powered on, and stop recording once you turn your car off. Note: Some dash cam models have the ability to keep recording even while the vehicle is parked! This is known as "parking mode".

Once you have purchased a dash, in most cases this is all you need to do to be up and running:

    • Insert a memory card.
    • Attach the suction-cup mount to your windshield.
    • Plug the power cord into the power source (cigarette lighter or other).
    • Done! Since recording is automatic, just drive your vehicle like you normally would, and enjoy the fact that you are now "protected by dashcam"!.

Please note that the above is applicable to plug & play dash cams.

Yes, there are several types of dash cams, and while they come in all shapes and sizes, they may be classified into a few distinct categories (click on any category link below to open a new browser window to that category of dash cam): Single-lens dash cams (for forward-facing recording) Dual-lens dash cams (for front + rear recording) Dual-lens dash cams (for front + inside recording) Professional dash cams (for commercial or governmental fleet vehicles) Single-lens dash cams are the most basic type of dash cam. These record from a single camera lens, like a normal camcorder. Typically people mount these dash cams in their front windshield in order to record what is happening in front of the car. Dual-lens dash cams are a bit more complex. These dash cams can record from more than one camera lens at a time. Typically they utilize one forward-facing lens to record what is happening in front of the vehicle, and one inside-facing lens to record what is happening inside the vehicle. These are particularly useful for fleet or commercial vehicles where typically the driver of the vehicle is not the owner of the vehicle. There are also dual-lens dash cams for front + rear such as the BlackVue DR750S-2CH that record in front of the vehicle like a single-lens model, but also use the input from a smaller remote camera (a camera mounted in the back of the vehicle - on the rear windshield) to record what is happening behind the vehicle as well. Professional dash cams are commercial-grade models designed for business use (fleet vehicles, taxis/Uber/Lyft drivers, delivery trucks, etc) or other commercial, municipal or government purposes. These high-reliability units are also desirable to those individuals seeking the added peace of mind that comes from using a professional-level device in their own... Read more
