How the Trackstar TM470 system works.

Should your vehicle be moved without the keys in the ignition and outside of its set geo-fence, the system is activated, and you will be notified of possible theft. Once activated, Trackstar can locate the vehicle every 20 seconds through its GPS, so if the theft is confirmed by you, steps can be taken very quickly to recover the vehicle.

The Trackstar App provides Trackstar customers with powerful functions to complement the Trackstar tracking system, such as:

Will show you the last known location of the vehicle, normally where the vehicle was parked.

Enables a Trackstar customer to define a location and receive an email alert if the vehicle is moved outside of the geofence.
• Journey History
Provides a view of recent journeys.

Location Request
If you are away from the vehicle and want to get back to where you parked, you can request the location in the app to guide you back to the car. If, however, you have parked in an underground car park, GPS tracking can only get you close to where the GPS signal was lost as you drove underground.
Monitored Alarm Center with 24/7 Level 1 Police response
The Control Centre’s are monitored 24/7 so should there be any thefts, you can contact them round the clock. Equally, if there are any tampering, battery disconnect alerts or indeed any unauthorised movement they will be in contact, even if it’s the early hours.
Unauthorised Movement Sensing
The Control Centre will contact you to ask for confirmation that the vehicle is secure if it is moved without the ignition on. When installing S5 units that use a driver ID tag system, if the vehicle is without a tag, the phone will be actioned via the secure operating centre. A requirement of the S5 Thatcham criteria is that the device must be accompanied by a system that is used to verify the driver of the vehicle is an authorised user. With the Tracstar S5 devices, driver recognition can be in the form of a physical Driver Detection tag. Driver Detection is a physical tag-based system that requires the driver to carry a tag with them when driving the vehicle. If the tag is not present in the vehicle when moving, Trafficmaster will endeavor to contact the registered keeper to ensure the vehicle's safety.

Yes, there is an annual subscription fee for all trackers. Either we collect the annual subscription fee, or the tracker user has to pay it to the tracker manufacturer.
Please note that the tracker will not operate unless you buy a subscription plan. This fee is charged because the tracker manufacturer or supplier monitors your car 24/7/365.
In most cases, you will be informed by the tracker company if your vehicle gets stolen. In some cases, you will have to call the given phone number to inform the tracker company immediately after you find out about the theft.
The next course of action is to obtain a crime number so therefore the tracking company can liaise with the police.
